Screening of “Black Wall Street, The Greenwood Ave Project.”

June 14, 2023 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

The Black Wall Street massacre took place over two days, May 31 and June 1, 1921. Mobs of white residents attacked Black residents, destroying homes, businesses, and public institutions in Oklahoma’s Greenwood district. Attackers burned and destroyed more than 35 square blocks – one of the wealthiest Black communities in the United States.

Join us June 14, 2023 for a screening of “Black Wall Street, The Greenwood Ave Project “ by Karen Reese. Ms. Reese explores the events of May 31 and June 1, 1921 in the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
